Sara Porkalob
Sara Porkalob is an arts activist based in Seattle.
She was featured on City Art’s 2017 Future List, served as Intiman Theatre's 2017 Co-Curator, and was one of the first recipients of a Village Theatre Original Writers Residency. She is a co-founder of DeConstruct, an online journal of intersectional performance critique. Dragon Lady, her first full length work, has garnered a Seattle Times Footlight Award, Broadway World Award for “Best New Play”, and is nominated for THREE 2017 Gregory Awards. In 2019, she will develop and perform the first two plays of her family trilogy, Dragon Cycle, at American Repertory Theater. This fall, she’s teaching an 8 week class, “Theory and Activism in Solo-Performance” at Freehold Theatre, writing a WHOLE BUNCH (and not just plays), and generally taking a break from acting in other people’s shows.
